Autumn and Winter staples: tea and hats
by unpetitfauve
Autumn and Winter have always been my favorite seasons, and that is definitely reflected in the contents of my closet. The majority of fabric in my wardrobe is better suited for cold weather. I love dark colors, thick fabrics, and structured silhouettes. What’s odd, though, is my hemline tends to rise when the weather gets colder. I think it’s because I feel somewhat uncomfortable wearing really short skirts without tights on underneath, and tights are best worn in cold weather. I am excited to whip out all my short dresses and skirts in the coming months, and wear warm tights and/or tall socks with them.
Today’s outfit was inspired by Arthur. He seems to like when I wear stuff that looks ambiguously Swiss or Austrian, so I put this little sucker together and topped it with one of my favorite vintage hats. I will be putting my winter hats to good use in the coming months! And of course no cold weather look is complete without a cup of tea. Today it is fair trade white tea and raw sugar in 1950′s Franciscan Appleware.
It is cold outside though, so I’m all ready to debut my 1950′s cashmere coat (which was difficult to photograph):
Bundle up!
Not that I need to bundle up too much. It’s not like it snows here or anything.
But still, I like to be bundly.

I’m totally with you. I’m also worried I might have partially squished one of my structured winter hats while it was in storage. Eff.
Photograph that coat outside, I want to see it!
Oh no! I hope you can steam that bad boy back to life! I will also take a better photo of that coat very soon.
